Early Childhood Consultant


Care About Childcare @ Weber State University is hiring for this position.
Job Summary:
Position will use the Environmental Rating Scale tools to assist in the assessment and quality improvement activities for early childhood programs. Mentor child care professionals and coordinate coaching activities relating to quality improvement of early childhood programs. Oversee the integration, as defined by the Utah State Office of Child Care, of Nationally recognized best practices into all technical assistance and child care provider mentoring and coaching activities. Responsible for creation and maintenance of technical assistance resource materials. May be called to function as a trainer for Care About Childcare course work. May be assigned to work as a region anchor as defined by the Utah Office of Childcare.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Family and Human Development, or equivalent. 
Four years experience working in a paid position working with children. 
Two years working to assist in the professional development of another adult.
Must have computer skills including word processing.


Prefered Qualifications:
The person in this position must be highly diplomatic and have excellent communication skills. They must be able to make suggestions and give appropriate information based on Nationally recognized best practices for child care professionals and Utah Licensing regulations. The person must be available to work evenings and weekends as requested
